Objectives for Nicole
Math – Nicole will:
- Improve her ability in Multiplication and Division
- Improve her ability in Sequencing
- Improve her ability in Rounding
- Improve her ability in Estimation
- Improve her ability in Charts and Graphs
- Continue to use math in practical applications
such as the kitchen, grocery store, traveling, etc.
Language Arts – Nicole will:
- Improve her Grammar skills
- Improve her ability in Composition - specifically
beginning to learn how to write a report using an outline
- Improve her spelling skills through the use of
a spelling list
- Improve reference and study skills
- Practice handwriting skills though the use of
a daily journal
- Practice sustained silent reading
Science – Nicole will:
- Study structure and function of cells though
the use of a microscope
- Study life stages of plants
- Study life stages of Invertebrates
- Study life stages of vertebrates
- Study other life cycles to form a better understanding
of the Balance of Nature
- Study various forms of energy
- Begin study of the flood and the earth after
the flood
History and Geography
- Nicole will:
- Study explorers from various countries
- Study the colonies
- Study the War of Independence
- Study a New Nation and Democracy
- Study the Civil War
- Study transportation
- Study Mexico, Central America, and Canada
Pennsylvania State History
– Nicole will:
- Study Pa State history though use of educational
trips
- Focus primarily on battles fought in Pennsylvania
during the War of Independence and the Civil War
- Investigate the state through use of maps
Physical Education & Art –
Nicole will:
- Continue to attend Lanchester Christian School
for both P.E. and Art
- Continue to take part in regular physical activity
aimed at developing aerobic health,
adequate muscular strength, and flexibility at
home.
Music – Nicole will:
- Continue to learn to play the piano and possibly
the dulcimer at home
Civics – Nicole will:
- Follow current events on a national and state
level using World Magazine
- Patriotism will be encouraged using field trips
to National Monuments
Safety Education – Nicole
will:
- Study the dangers and prevention of fires
- Attend local safety fairs
- Learn basic first aid procedures
- Tour a local firehouse
- We will continue to stress stranger danger
Health and Physiology – Nicole
will:
- Learn the importance of dental care
- Be encouraged to apply proper hygiene
- Learn the danger of alcohol abuse
- Begin the study of basic anatomy
- Learn about necessity of good nutrition
Miscellaneous
- Spanish – begin learning the basics of Spanish
- Typing – continue to encourage Nicole in her
typing
- Home Economics – begin to learn the basics of
cooking and sewing
